Song Facts: Interesting trivia: There is no person in the band named Marshall Tucker. The band had formed from a group of musicians from other bands, but they didn’t have a name. Their promoter had gotten them a gig, but needed a name to put on the flyers. They kicked around a couple of silly names, but came up with The Marshall Tucker Band because the key fob to their temporary warehouse had the name Marshall Tucker on it. The real Marshall Tucker turned out to be a blind piano tuner who had previously used that same warehouse. Afterwards, the real Marshall Tucker became one of their biggest fans.
After Toy Caldwell wrote “Heard it in a Love Song, lead singer Doug Gray went a year making excuses not to sing the song. Doug feared that the lyrics would turn people off, even though the song had a nice dance beat to it. To his surprise, the first time they sang it on stage, the crowd went wild. They loved it! It was later recorded and released, and became an instant hit.
That was fantastic Pam, you did it more than justice.
You look so in charge throwing that Hoffier from side to side like it’s nothing.
Keep on rocking Bad Ass Bass Gal…..
Thanks!
I did smile a couple of times didn’t I? I was deep in concentration staying with the groove and remembering which chord I was on…. LOL
Yes, the Hofner is 4.6 lbs compared to the Yamaha BB735 at 9 lbs. Much lighter and easier on my back.
VERY nice Pam!! The Hofner fits you well and you appear to be in full control playing it… Great tone and timing to one of my favorites… Love listening and playing to MTB – then again, love ALL things Southern Rock!!…
Absolutely beautiful. I remember as a young teenager finding this Band and this song. I have been a lifetime lover of this type of American Music. MattDay.

Thank you Toby. Yes, it’s very lightweight, plus I’m really digging the short scale.
Another nice job Pam, you look taller must be the light weight Horner.
Great tone and another great production from Sara and yourself,
Cheers Brian
Thank you Brian!
That was great Pam! That Hofner looks very natural in your hands. Fantastic performance and excellent video production as usual.

Thank you Jerry
Good cover. (But you gotta smile!). That Hofner looks SO much lighter than your huge 5 string bass.
Thanks!

Great job. One of my favorite songs. Also love the simple guitar solo in the song.
Thank you. Sorry it took so long, I just had major surgery and am still in recovery.
