John Lennon came up with Nowhere Man after struggling to write one more song for the Rubber Soul album. Said Lennon: “I thought of myself sitting there, doing nothing and getting nowhere.” In a 1971 interview with Rolling Stone, Lennon recalled the background to this song: “I remember I was just going through this paranoia trying to write something and nothing would come out, so I just lay down and tried to not write. I dozed off, and then this came out. The whole thing came out in one gulp.”

Excellent as I have come to expect from you! I wish the bass could have been just a tad louder… could be my hearing. I will listen again with better headphones. Thank you for sharing. Keep them coming!!
Thank you Mary. I wasn’t aware of an issue with the bass volume. Please listen with headphones or on your car radio and let me know if you still think it should be louder. I appreciate your feedback.

Wow – well done Pam. You transcribed that whole bass line, which must have been quite the job – it’s more complex than I would have thought at first. But, listening to the Beatles with new bass “ears” I’m realising the complexity of their music – they make it sound easy and simple (uh, uh – not so). Very well played – it’s a deceptively fast bass line, your plucking hand was moving at lightening speed to get all the notes in. Bravo
Thank you Sue! Yes, Paul wrote some complex basslines, and this one was a doozy!
Pam
Pam, this was actually almost flawless. I had a great musical time listening to and watching this rendition of yours. Simply awesome, great job! … And keep rolling!
Thank you Tomas!
