Now that I own a bass guitar and an amp, what do I do with it? I’ve been spending much of my time watching various YouTube videos on bass playing, and have managed to pick up a few essential tips. I have also discovered a handful of regular contributors that I like, and have subscribed to their channels.
But what I really need are lessons. Do I want to hire an instructor? That would be expensive, and while I’m recovering from my cancer treatments, it’s not practical for me to schlep over to a studio on a regular basis.
But wait, isn’t this the age of the internet? Distance learning as it’s often called? So, I did some research, searching for the best online teacher for the money, and I settled on Scott’s Bass Lessons. He wasn’t on the top of any lists, but he was on a great many of them. I watched a few of his YouTube videos, and then signed up for his 14 day free trial.
I’ll follow up with how this went.
Follow up: Scott is a friendly enough fellow, but he tends to talk over my head. I just want beginner lessons, and he throws out terminology that I am not even familiar with. I cancelled my trial before having to pay for it.
